Meet Ben Wiren

Ben is an outspoken and resourceful engineer with a mindset for improving the world around him. He enjoys learning new skills and constantly absorbing new information about his interests. Ben is also passionate about the people around him; he strives to help others learn and succeed, demonstrates unwavering integrity, and pursues leadership and mentorship opportunities anywhere he can. He is widely regarded as a well-spoken, confident, and highly accountable individual who is driven by the pursuit of constant improvement.

A graduate of Oregon State University, Ben holds a dual-B.S. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering with a focus on Product Development. Currently Ben works as a Mechanical Engineer 2 with Lam Research Corp., specializing in Hardware Design in the New Products Group. Before working for Lam, Ben served as a Field Service Engineer III with Applied Materials Inc, where he was an integral part of a high-caliber team of engineers, deploying and sustaining cutting-edge semiconductor production technologies in one of the most advanced semiconductor R&D fabs on the planet. During college, Ben was a Hardware Engineering Intern with Lam Research Corp., where he problem-solved, owned, and completed multiple major Sustaining Engineering projects. He also worked as a Tool Design Engineering Intern with The Boeing Company, creating machine tooling solutions for several unique, high-strength metal components used in high-volume commercial aircraft production. 

Outside of work, Ben enjoys building, tuning, and racing cars. He also enjoys mountain biking, photography, playing a variety of musical instruments, and occasionally experimenting with micro-electronics as a desk hobby. Ben is also an active member of the Sports Car Club of America (Oregon Region), regularly attending administrative meetings and as many autocross events as he can manage. Ben thoroughly enjoys developing his various skillsets, and is always thrilled by opportunities to share his knowledge, experiences, and passions with others.
