He is widely regarded as a well-spoken, confident, and highly accountable individual who is driven by the pursuit of constant improvement.
A graduate of Oregon State University, Ben holds a dual-B.S. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering with a focus on Product Development. Currently Ben is a Mechanical Engineer 3 with Lam Research Corp., driving development of cutting-edge Mo plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition tools. Before Lam, Ben served as a Field Service Engineer III with Applied Materials Inc, where he was an integral part of a high-caliber team of engineers, deploying and sustaining cutting-edge semiconductor production technologies in one of the largest semiconductor R&D fabs on the planet. During college, Ben was a Hardware Engineering Intern with Lam Research Corp., where he problem-solved, owned, and completed several engineering projects. He also worked as a Tool Design Engineering Intern with The Boeing Company, creating machine tooling solutions for several unique, high-strength metal components used in high-volume commercial aircraft production.
Off the clock, Ben enjoys building, tuning, racing, and engineering custom performance parts for cars. He also enjoys mountain biking, photography, playing a variety of musical instruments, and occasionally experimenting with micro-electronics and CAD/3D scanning/printing projects as desk hobbies. Ben is an active member of the Oregon-region chapter of the Sports Car Club of America - he competes in as many autocross events as he can manage during the on-season, and volunteers as a peformance driving instructor at local events (as well as at the Tire Rack Street Survival course, tailored for new drivers). Ben thoroughly enjoys developing his various skillsets, and is always thrilled by opportunities to share his knowledge, experiences, and passions with others.
